Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the CrestoFit mobile application and the related services operated by the developer of CrestoFit(“we”, “our”, or “us”). Please read them carefully. By downloading or using CrestoFit, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Acceptance of these Terms

By downloading, installing, or using CrestoFit, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the application. We will publish material changes to this page and update the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the application after a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Your account

CrestoFit does not require you to create an account or sign in with an email address, Apple ID, or any third-party identity provider. On first launch, the application creates an anonymous identity stored in the iOS Keychain on your device. You are responsible for the security of the device that holds that identity and for activity conducted under your in-app handle. We have no way to recover an identity that is lost— for example, by deleting the application before using Settings → Data → Delete my data, by erasing the device, by a Keychain reset, or by migrating to a new iPhone — because we do not collect any contact information that would let us re-link a new identity to your prior progression. This is by design.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Manipulate XP, fabricate logs, or tamper with the ranking system
• Harass, threaten, or impersonate other squad members
• Choose a display name that is misleading, hateful, or impersonates a person you are not
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, resell, or rebrand the application
• Probe, automate, or stress-test our backend services outside normal application usage
• Use CrestoFit to share content that is illegal in your jurisdiction

Squad members may leave or remove one another. We may also remove a squad member or terminate access for a device that violates these Terms. A squad owner may disband their squad at any time, and every member retains their individual progression.

Not medical advice

CrestoFit is a fitness journaling tool, not a medical device. Calorie estimates, food classifications, sleep breakdowns, workout calorie totals, and rank labels are approximations and are not diagnoses. Do not rely on them as a substitute for professional medical, nutritional, or mental-health advice. If you have a medical condition, a history of disordered eating, or are pregnant, consult a qualified clinician before changing your behavior based on any estimate provided by CrestoFit.

In the event of a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services. Do not use CrestoFit to manage urgent or time-sensitive medical care.

Health data

Apple Health data that CrestoFit reads remains on your device. We do not transmit it to our servers, sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to build user profiles. The complete list of fields read and written, and the purposes for which they are used, is set out in our Privacy Policy. These restrictions are also required by Apple's HealthKit developer terms.

Subscriptions and pricing

CrestoFitis currently free to use. If we introduce paid tiers in the future, they will be clearly identified within the application, billed through the App Store under Apple's standard subscription terms, and cancelable at any time from your Apple ID subscriptions page. We will notify users in-app before introducing any paid tier.

User content

Logs, photos, meal descriptions, mood notes, custom workouts, custom quests, and any other content you create within CrestoFit belong to you. We do not claim ownership of this content and we do not access it. It resides in the local storage of your iPhone, encrypted at rest by iOS. The squad scoreboard fields you choose to share (display name, XP, streak, and similar) likewise remain yours; we host them only so that other authenticated members of your squad can see the in-squad leaderboard.

Intellectual property

The CrestoFitname, the “Crest of Fitness” tagline, the crest mark, the visual design, and the source code are owned by us. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the application in accordance with these Terms. No other rights are granted.

Third-party services

CrestoFit relies on Apple HealthKit, Apple WatchConnectivity (the watch companion), and Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, App Check, Remote Config, Crashlytics, Analytics, and Hosting), as described in our Privacy Policy. The terms and privacy practices of those providers apply to the parts of the experience they provide. We are not responsible for outages, behavior changes, or policy changes on those platforms.

Plan import / export (.crestofit files)

CrestoFit can export workout plans you build inside the app as.crestofit files, which you can share via AirDrop, email, Messages, or any iOS share sheet. Likewise, you can import a .crestofitfile you have received. These files are plain JSON; they contain the plan’s structure (exercises, sets, reps, durations) but no personal information about the sender. You are responsible for the content of files you share— if a plan name or description includes identifying or sensitive information, that information will travel with the file.

Updates and changes

CrestoFit evolves over time. Features may be modified, removed, or temporarily unavailable. Errors and unexpected behavior are possible. Anonymous crash reports are transmitted automatically to help us identify and fix issues; for anything that requires a direct response, email developer.crestofit@gmail.com.

Disclaimer of warranties

CrestoFitis provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the application will operate uninterrupted or error-free, or that calorie estimates, food classifications, workout-energy totals, or in-squad leaderboards will be accurate. Your use of the application is at your sole risk.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CrestoFit and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or health outcomes, arising out of or related to your use of the application, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Where applicable law does not permit the exclusion or limitation of liability, our total liability is limited to the total amount paid by you to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, which while the app is free to use is zero.

Termination

You may stop using CrestoFitat any time by deleting the application from your iPhone. To remove your cloud record and anonymous identity from our servers as well, use Settings → Data → Delete my data inside the application before deleting it. We may suspend or terminate access to the backend services for a device that violates these Terms, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the violation.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If you are a consumer in another jurisdiction, you retain the protections of your local consumer law that cannot be waived by contract.

Changes to these Terms

We will update this page if anything material changes and update the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will also be surfaced inside the application on the next launch.
